ARMSTRONGS BRING HOME THE GOLD!!!

(here!)
Woohoo!!!! Thanks, everyone, for your votes of support! We're super pumped!! The trip, of course, will be awesome. But I think we're equally excited that our first attempt at doing a project like this together was so well-received. And we're hoping this opens the doors to lots of opportunities to partner our art and animating skills with the work of amazing musicians. So thanks, Owl City, for helping us get out there!

3 Generations of Men At Work

I'm definitely a grown-up with a family of my own, but there is still something very comforting about having my dad(s) around. My dad and my dad-in-law both came into town this weekend and are presently hard at work in the basement getting it ready for us to live in (our friends, the owners of our borrowed home, will be back from their 6-month-stint in New England on Tuesday and we're going to move into their basement).

We've been feeling the pressure of a lot of deadlines recently and the stress has temporarily distracted us from the excitement of soon living life with our good friends. But we ARE excited for this new chapter....one we wouldn't have chosen to write, really, but it feels like the right thing for us now.

The stain for the concrete should be arriving today and we've been slowly acquiring some really great vintage furniture. I can't wait to have it all done so I can show you pics! Have a great weekend!

(Well, some of the men are working harder than others). Hudson is enjoying one of the perks of having grandpa in town ; )

Read My Other Blog For Now

Hey all-
I'm putting more time and effort into my studio blog, the one I have listed in my Etsy store and the one I use to promote new work in my shop. I've started adding more photos and stories about our family to that blog so rather than repeat the same thing in both blogs, I'm directing this traffic over to that one.

I'm working on a line of Christmas cards that will be coming out in late October. So if you're interested, hold off on buying your Christmas cards for a few more weeks and I'll let you know when they're available.

Til then, bookmark the new blog and check back often!

Spoiler Alert!

It's (probably) a boy!

For whatever reason, we were kinda thinking it was a girl. Hudson has been saying it's a sister for over a month. "It's a boy sister?" Hudson asked in confusion when the ultrasound tech told us what it was.
So though it took me a minute to switch gears from pink dresses to peewee football, I'm really excited about the idea of Hudson growing up with a brother. And we're following in true Armstrong fashion. I guess after this we need to have a girl, then another boy, then a long line up of dogs, a cow, and a goat. Shew!

Our baby is 18 weeks along. Just like this one...pretty crazy, huh!

Just too darn cute-

Hudson said he wanted to pray by himself last night as I was putting him to bed he closed his eyes and said "God, thank you for the new baby. Thank you for my sister. Help me to obey. Amen" We don't actually know if it's a girl or a boy yet but way cute nonetheless.

And who was I to argue when Hudson wanted to give mommy a massage just like daddy. I say start 'em young. Next week we're gonna teach him acupuncture. I'll let you know how it goes ; )

Family and Friends

I'm behind on adding photos of Hudson with out-of-town family and friends from the past couple months. Here are a few...

Bath time with Coop

Ridin' Pappy's tractor

Grace (unsuccessfully) trying to convince Hudson to let him spike his hair.

Taking turns with Aunt Andrea tracing eachother's feet and hands.

PuttPutt with Nanna and Pappy. Hudson was the only one of us to get a hole-in-one.

Theology 101

as I was putting Hudson to bed...
Me (Arian): Hudson, do you know where God is? He's everywhere. He can hear us praying right now.
Hudson: God builds houses?
Me: uhh, not exactly...but He made the mountains...and the trees they use to build houses
Hudson: God likes ladders.
Me: uh
Hudson: (interjects matter-of-factly) and monkeys....and eyebrows.

Amazing...so young yet he GETS it..he gets it.
